Kottayam: Ambalappuzha MLA G Sudhakaran said he wasn't interested in continuing a verbal duel with Kuttanad MLA Reji Cherian.Speaking to reporters in Ambalappuzha on Monday, Sudhakaran said he hadn't insulted anyone and would never do that. When asked about his criticism on Cherian’s visit to Thottappally, he refused to react and said, “Check the rules and precedent.” He said he had no complaints regarding the matter.Sudhakaran and Cherian had engaged in a war of words on Sunday over the latter’s visit to Thottappally spillway, in Ambalapuzha constituency, allegedly without informing Sudhakaran, the local MLA.At a public function, Sudhakaran said an MLA shouldn't enter another legislator’s constituency and get involved in official engagements without prior intimation. He had said that such conduct could invite action from the assembly’s privileges committee.Cherian hit back saying he had every right, as representative of Kuttanad, to inspect issues affecting his constituency. He clarified that he had visited the spillway along with officials, including engineers, to assess its condition.“I didn't go there to remove sand. I wanted to understand the situation at Thottappally, which directly affects Kuttanad during heavy rain,” Cherian had said.
