Kochi: Senior CPM leader and all-India vice-president of Democratic Women's Association Subhashini Ali said that people of Kerala are in the mood to give a hat-trick victory to LDF. Ali was speaking after inaugurating ‘women's assemblies', a programme organised for the campaign of LDF candidates Saju Paul in Angamaly and Sabu K Jacob in Piravom.
"Over the past 10 years, Kerala has undergone a comprehensive transformation," Ali said. "While protests against Union govt policies are happening nationwide, pro-people policies in Kerala are being highlighted. LDF will return to guide not just the common people, but all of India," she said.
"Congress is not fighting against BJP anywhere," she said. "In reality, they have opened door for BJP. The situation is no different in Kerala. Padmaja Venugopal and Anil Antony went through that door. People in Kerala have not seen the true face of BJP. In places where they govern, women are not safe. BJP has taken a stance of protecting those who harass women. Their own party members are perpetrators. BJP stands for Balatkari Janata Party (rapist people's party)," Ali said.
She emphasised the need to completely keep BJP out of Kerala.
"Congress, which has been out of power for 10 years, is in a desperate state, making various promises to regain power," Ali said. "Their leader announced a pension of Rs 3,000. How can they provide Rs 3,000 when they can't even consistently provide Rs 600?" she asked.
