Kanpur: Additional District Judge VII Kanpur Nagar Nisha Srivastava on Tuesday dismissed the bail applications of two accused named
Vineet Kumar and Ashwani Kumar.
The police arrested them on charges of fabricating forged educational marksheets and certificates. According to
Vinod Tripathi, additional district govt counsel, acting on a tip, the police exposed the racket of forged marksheets and certificates and arrested Jogendra and others. During the investigation, Vineet Kumar and Ashwani Kumar were also arrested, and forged marksheets and certificates of different universities were recovered from their possession.
Both the accused in their bail application claimed that they were innocent and fabricated in the case. Nothing discriminating was recovered from them.
The ADGC strongly opposed their bail application and argued that they would try to destroy the evidence and might involve themselves once again in the same business.
The presiding judge in her order observed that the accused were charged with a serious crime and by forged marksheets and certificates they played with the future of students.
Since investigation was going on and it cannot be denied that they would not distort the evidence if bail was granted to them. Therefore, without making any comment on the merits of the case and considering the nature and seriousness of the offence, there were no grounds for granting bail to them, hence their bail applications were being dismissed.
