Indore: A 26-year-old man was stabbed to death in Lasudia police station area on Friday night following a dispute over drawing water from a public tap. The police have arrested two suspects, while a search is underway for two others allegedly involved in the crime.
The man, Chintaram Rathore, a resident of Ravidas Nagar, had a confrontation on Friday morning with four persons, Kuldeep, Mohit, Pankaj and Mayur. The argument reportedly broke out over the use of a motor to draw water from a govt-installed tap. According to Rathore's family, the accused had frequently harassed locals to assert dominance over the water source.
Later that night, the accused reportedly called up Rathore and asked him to join them at Raja Dhaba under the pretext of a reconciliation. After drinking together, the group attacked Rathore, stabbing him twice in the chest.
In a startling turn of events, the mother of accused Mohit, arrived at the scene and transported the critically injured Rathore to a hospital in Dewas Naka area. However, she allegedly abandoned him outside the facility and fled. Rathore succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Following the incident, police moved the body to MY Hospital for an autopsy on Saturday. After registering a case of murder, Lasudia police have arrested Kuldeep and Mohit.
