Bomb threat email sent to school in Rau
Indore: A bomb threat email sent to Delhi Public School in Rau on Wednesday morning triggered a swift evacuation and a multi-agency response.Police said that the email, received around 8.20 am, warned of an attack using a drone. The message did not name the Indore school but mentioned a school in Bhopal."The mail came in the morning and at first glance it appeared to be a hoax. We informed the police immediately. BDDS and police teams reached the spot, and the school was evacuated within minutes. The BDDS and dog squad carried out a thorough check, but nothing suspicious was found. Before the evacuation, parents were sent an emergency email, and later in the day, a detailed communication was shared with them about the situation," DPS Rau principal Asha Nair said. "The threat mail did not name DPS and instead mentioned a school in Bhopal, which made it seem like it had been sent to multiple schools," she said.According to the police, the email was sent under a name ‘Seema'. Cyber teams are now tracing the origin of the mail to establish where it was sent from and whether it was linked to a wider pattern of threats.Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya said that the message appeared to be a rumour at the preliminary stage, but the investigation was going on.
