Kalaburagi: City police commissioner Sharanappa SD and the additional district magistrate have ordered the arrest of rowdy-sheeter Ravikumar Tukaram, 37, under the Goonda Act, with his detention in Ballari Central Jail.
Ravikumar, a resident of Hanumana Nagar in CJ Colony in the city, is described as a habitual offender, with a total of nine cases registered against him.
From 2008 to 2026, as many as 18 cases, including two under the BNS Act-2023, two under the CrPC, and two under the Indian Civil Protection Code, totalling 24 cases, were registered against him, and he was classified as an ‘A’ category rowdy-sheeter.
Police said he was involved in offences including murder, attempt to murder, robbery, extortion, theft, assault on women and criminal intimidation in various police station limits. The order followed a report submitted by PI Guru Patil of Station Bazar police station, stating that it was necessary to detain the accused under the Goonda Act to curb his illegal activities. Based on this, police commissioner Sharanappa SD and the additional district magistrate issued the detention order.
