NH-507 blocked near Sarigad amid continuous landslides, vehicular movement halted

UTTARKASHI: National Highway NH-507 has been blocked near Sarigad due to continuous landslides. In view of the constant falling of debris and stones from the hillside, the administration has halted vehicular movement on both sides of the road as a safety precaution.According to reports, one JCB, one Poclain excavator, and one breaker machine have been deployed at the site to clear the road from the Barkot side of the NH. However, work using the machinery has not yet commenced, as landslides continue unabated in the area. Road-clearing operations will begin once the landslides cease.Teams from the administration and the police are present at the scene; prioritizing the safety of travelers and locals, vehicles have been stopped at safe locations on both sides of the affected stretch.
