3 killed, one critical in hit-and-run case in US Nagar

RUDRAPUR: Three young men travelling on a cart were killed in a hit-and-run incident near Gaurikhera village in Sitarganj, Udham Singh Nagar, on Thursday. According to police, five youths from Gaurikhera were on the cart when a speeding vehicle allegedly grazed it, causing them to fall on the road. A heavy vehicle coming from behind then ran over three of them and fled the scene. The deceased have been identified as Vijay Kumar, 22, Ankit Singh, 20, and Pankaj, 21, all residents of Gaurikhera. One of the injured, who sustained grievous injuries, has been sent to a higher medical centre, while another escaped with minor bruises. “A case has been registered in the matter, and efforts are underway to identify the vehicles involved using CCTV footage,” said BS Chauhan, cirlce officer, Sitarganj.
