Lok Adalat to settle 35k cases on Sept 28
Pune's Lok Adalat will handle around 35,000 cases on September 28 at the district and sessions court. MSEDCL is providing a special discount of 10 to 15% on power theft cases for the first time. The initiative includes resolving traffic offences, civil and criminal cases, family disputes, labor issues, motor accident claims, and pre-litigation matters.
Lok Adalat for electricity consumers on Sept 14: MP’s central discom
A Lok Adalat is scheduled for September 14 to resolve energy-related disputes in 16 districts under the central discom. Consumers are urged to settle cases under Section 135 of the Electricity Act 2003. Concessions are available at both pre-litigation and litigation stages for domestic, agricultural, non-domestic, and industrial consumers up to specified limits.
Women’s panel resolves 60 complaints at adalat
During a two-day adalat in Thiruvananthapuram, the Kerala women's commission resolved 60 out of 350 complaints. They addressed issues like recovering money for an abandoned elderly mother and persuading an alcoholic man to undergo treatment. The commission noted rising instances of children neglecting parents and workplace harassment, with more women speaking out.
