Haryana budget 2023-24 live updates: The Haryana govt on Thursday tabled the state budget for FY 2023-24. Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who also holds the finance portfolio, is presenting the budget in the Vidhan Sabha today. CM Khattar presented Rs 1,83,950-crore budget. No new tax was proposed. Current state budget has an increase of 11.6% over the previous budget. The budget proposes an expenditure of Rs 57,879 crore on capital asset creation. Haryana budget mere rhetoric, anti-farmer: Congress

Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday said the budget presented by the BJP-JJP government in Haryana has left every section, particularly farmers, "empty handed" and was a mere rhetoric. Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who holds the finance portfolio, presented a Rs 1.83 lakh crore budget for 2023-24. He announced several new initiatives while laying emphasis on various sectors, especially social, agriculture and youth and also proposed no fresh tax. (PTI)

Haryana Budget: 10-time increase in funds for Gau Sewa Aayog

The Haryana budget on Thursday proposed to raise allocation of funds by 10 times for the Haryana Gau Sewa Aayog from Rs 40 crore to Rs 400 crore. The aayog is engaged in the protection and caring of stray cattle at 'gaushalas' (cow shelters). Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who presented the state budget for 2023-24 in the state assembly, said there are 632 gaushalas registered with the Haryana Gau Sewa Aayog in the state, which are housing around 4.60 lakh stray cattle.
