Former MP Rajmohinder Majitha joins AAP
Chandigarh: Former Rajya Sabha MP and Chief Khalsa Diwan patron Rajmohinder Singh Majitha joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday.In a statement, AAP claimed that with his joining, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) suffered a political setback. AAP said his joining would help the party gain strength in Punjab's Majha region. Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann welcomed Majitha into AAP. Former RTI commissioner Heminder Singh Majitha and Chief Khalsa Diwan member Sukhdeep Singh Majitha also joined AAP. The party's Majitha constituency in-charge, Talbir Singh Gill, was also present on the occasion. Mann said people and leaders from different sections of society are continuously joining the party after being impressed by the state govt's development work and pro-people policies. Congratulating all leaders who joined the party, Mann credited the party's pro-people policies for the joinings, calling the new members "eminent personalities from Punjab's religious, social and political spheres. "I extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to all of them into the party," he wrote on X.
