Chandigarh: Chief secretary H Rajesh Prasad Monday reviewed the performance of the industries department for 2025-26, directing time-bound steps to boost ease of doing business and speed up key initiatives.
At a meeting here, officials said the department is currently supporting over 65,000 Udyam-registered MSMEs in the UT through policy and facilitation measures aimed at strengthening the industrial ecosystem.
Stressing faster execution, Prasad ordered immediate rollout of the Chandigarh Startup Policy, 2025, setting a target to recognise 150 startups within three months. He also asked the department to expedite empanelment of incubators and operationalise startup grant disbursal at the earliest.
Reviewing delayed payment disputes under the Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council (MSEFC), the chief secretary directed officials to speed up disposal of pending cases and ensure timely grievance redressal. Officials informed that 105 cases have been resolved so far this financial year.
