The CM said such exposure would broaden their outlook, enhance knowledge and help them better understand the country's rich heritage and modern progress.
The tour, which will continue until Jan 15, includes visits to major cities such as Chandigarh, Delhi, Agra and Goa. The children will travel through various modes of transport, including Volvo buses, railways and air travel.
In Delhi, they will visit iconic landmarks such as the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Raj Ghat, Humayun's Tomb, the National Zoological Park, the National Science Museum and several cultural and institutional centres.
A visit to Taj Mahal in Agra is also part of the itinerary, said an official spokesperson.
During the Goa leg, the children will explore famous beaches, churches and temples, enjoy a pleasure cruise and visit the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services to enhance scientific and environmental awareness.
Sukhu emphasised that under the Mukhyamantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana, the state govt was ensuring not just care and protection, but opportunities for education, exposure and a dignified future.
He directed officials to ensure the children's safety, comfort and well-being throughout the tour. Since the launch of the scheme, around 4,000 orphaned children have been adopted as "Children of the State", receiving comprehensive support for their overall development.
