2.4 lakh candidates to appear for HTET on June 13-14
Rohtak: The Haryana Board of School Education on Sunday announced that the Haryana Teachers' Eligibility Test (HTET) will be held on June 13 and 14. Around 2.4 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam, which will be conducted at nearly 820 centres across the state.Addressing a press conference in Bhiwani, board chairman Pawan Kumar said the board has also planned strict security arrangements at all centres to prevent malpractice and ensure a peaceful examination process. The chairman added that comprehensive guidelines and rules related to the examination had been shared to help candidates prepare accordingly.Sharing details of the examination schedule, Kumar said the Level-1, Level-2 and Level-3 examinations will be held during the evening session on June 13 and during the morning and evening sessions on June 14.The board chairman said teachers engaged in the Census-related work would be exempted from HTET exam duties to prevent additional workload and mental stress.Considering the prevailing heatwave and extreme summer conditions, the board also directed authorities to ensure adequate arrangements at examination centres for the comfort and safety of candidates.Leave 20 Questions, Lose Candidature To maintain sanctity, transparency and fairness of the examination process, the board has introduced a new rule this year. Kumar announced that if any candidate leaves more than 20 questions unanswered on the OMR sheet during the examination, the candidature will be cancelled immediately. He said the measure was introduced to prevent manipulation or any possibility of filling OMR sheets after the examination.Administrative vigilance teams and flying squads will remain active at examination centres, while the entire examination process will be monitored through CCTV surveillance.Candidates also have been instructed to reach their examination centres at least one and a half hours before the commencement of the examination so that mandatory procedures such as checking through metal detectors, biometric verification and thumb impression data capturing can be completed in time.
