SBI staff falls from train, dies
Koraput: An employee of State Bank of India died after slipping while trying to get down from a moving train at Ambadala railway station in Rayagada district around 5 am on Monday. The deceased was identified as Dilip Kumar Sabat (35), an employee of the SBI branch at Lanjigarh, said police.According to sources, Dilip was travelling to Ambadala on the Bhubaneswar–Junagarh Express. Dilip had fallen asleep during the journey. By the time he woke up, the train had already started leaving Ambadala station. In an attempt to deboard the moving train, he reportedly lost his footing and fell, sustaining critical injuries.Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel rescued and admitted him to the local Ambadala hospital. “His condition became critical after the accident, following which doctors advised shifting him to Bhawanipatna for advanced medical care,” said police. “Dilip died while being shifted to the hospital at Bhawanipatna,” police added.
