Cyclone Dana Live Updates: Flight, train services resume in Kolkata as Cyclone Dana completes landfall in Odisha
Cyclone Dana surged toward the Bengal-Odisha coast on Wednesday, with landfall expected between Bhitarkanika and Dhamara in northern Odisha, approximately 350 km from Kolkata, during the night between Thursday and Friday. It is projected to strike as a severe cyclonic storm with wind speeds reaching up to 120 km/h. Odisha prepared for the storm’s impact by evacuating between three to four lakh people from vulnerable regions on Wednesday. As a precaution, Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) will halt operations from 5 pm on Thursday until 9 am on Friday. Flight operations at Kolkata airport will also be suspended for 15 hours from 6pm on Thursday. Stay tuned to TOI for the latest updates:
