UP Board to reopen portal for uploading pending intermediate practical marks

Prayagraj: The UP Board will reopen its portal on April 6 and 7 to allow schools to upload pending marks of the intermediate practical examinations after it was found that data of thousands of students had not been submitted.The move came after a review revealed that marks of 34,637 students were still missing on the portal, raising concerns that their board results could be adversely affected. Board secretary Bhagwati Singh said the intermediate practical examinations were conducted in two phases — from Jan 24 to Feb 1 and from Feb 2 to Feb 9. Considering that practical exams remained pending in some schools and marks were not uploaded online, the deadline was earlier extended till Feb 13. "Despite external examiners completing the evaluation, internal examiners at 652 practical examination centres failed to upload the marks through the school login," Singh said. Taking serious note of the situation, the board will reopen the website for two days to allow internal examiners to upload the remaining marks. Singh said the marks must be uploaded through the link available on the official website within the stipulated time. Singh further warned that failure would result in the students concerned being declared failed. In such cases, responsibility will be fixed on the examiners, principals and the district school inspectors concerned for lax supervision. The board has urged all institutions to act promptly to ensure that no student suffers due to procedural lapses.
