A seven-month-old baby girl was rushed to hospital after falling from a window at a residential property in Whitefield, Greater Manchester on Monday evening. A woman has since been arrested in connection with the incident.According to The Sun, Greater Manchester Police confirmed the arrest was made on suspicion of child neglect. The woman's relationship to the baby has not yet been confirmed by authorities.An air ambulance landed near the scene shortly after the alarm was raised. Police officers and paramedics also attended the address on what residents described as a quiet residential street.The baby girl was taken to hospital following the fall. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this stage.The incident comes just months after a similar tragedy in central London in March, when an 18-day-old baby girl suffered a fatal head injury after falling from a third-floor flat in Westminster.Her mother Zahira Byjaouane, aged 43, was charged with murder after prosecutors told the Old Bailey that the infant had fallen approximately 10 metres from a sash window onto a concrete surface. Mariam died in hospital the same morning having suffered a fractured skull. A plea hearing in that case is scheduled for June 3 and a provisional trial date has been set for February 2027.No further details about the specific circumstances of Monday's fall in Whitefield have been released. Investigations are continuing.
