At least 12 Palestinians, including six police officers, have been killed in a fresh wave of Israeli strikes across Gaza, according to local medics, underscoring the fragile state of the ceasefire in the besieged enclave. In Gaza City, an airstrike killed three people, among them two police officers, while tank shelling in Beit Lahiya left two dead. The deadliest strike was reported in Khan Younis, where seven people, including four police personnel, were killed after a police vehicle was hit near a wedding hall, witnesses said.
Gaza’s interior ministry accused Israel of deliberately targeting the police force, warning that such attacks risk further eroding already fragile efforts to maintain basic order amid the ongoing crisis. The Israeli military confirmed carrying out a strike in Gaza City, even as the ceasefire has seen repeated violations in recent days.
The continued targeting of security personnel and civilian-linked infrastructure highlights the deepening tensions on the ground, raising concerns over the sustainability of the ceasefire and the broader humanitarian situation in Gaza.
"You can't be attacked with 2,800 missiles and drones and then talk to me about trust. That will take ages and ages," Gargash said at a World Policy Conference in the town of Chantilly north of Paris.
