US-Israel-Iran War News Highlights: Drone incident sparks fire near Dubai International Airport; Qatar, Saudi condemn Iranian attacks

US-Israel-Iran War News Live Updates: The conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States has rapidly escalated into one of the most dangerous crises in the Middle East in years. The war began on February 28 when US and Israeli forces launched coordinated airstrikes across Iran, killing the country’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and triggering a wider regional confrontation.

Since then, Iran has responded with waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli positions and shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz — a crucial global energy corridor through which roughly a fifth of the world’s oil supply passes.

The disruption has shaken global markets, pushing oil prices sharply higher and prompting several major economies to release supplies from their strategic reserves.

Iranian officials have warned the conflict could turn into a prolonged war of attrition capable of severely damaging the global economy. Tehran says it still maintains control over the Strait of Hormuz and has threatened to target economic infrastructure linked to the United States and Israel. Iranian forces have also targeted commercial vessels in the Gulf, raising fears of a wider maritime crisis.

Early Friday, US President Donald Trump issued a fresh warning to Iran on social media, writing: “Watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today.” He also described the damage inflicted on Iran and its leadership as a “great honor”.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy claimed its ballistic missiles struck the USS Abraham Lincoln, causing heavy damage and forcing the US carrier to retreat from Gulf waters. Washington rejected the claim, saying the carrier remains fully operational and continues to support the military campaign known as Operation Epic Fury.

The conflict has also spread beyond the immediate battlefield. A powerful explosion shook buildings in Dubai, with a large cloud of smoke seen rising over a central area of the Middle East financial hub.The blast was followed by sirens from the direction of Sheikh Zayed Road.

At the same time, Saudi Arabia said its air defences intercepted dozens of drones entering its airspace as Iran expanded attacks on oil-rich Gulf countries in response to the US-Israeli strikes.

With fighting now entering its second week, concerns are growing that the conflict could widen further, threatening global trade, energy supplies and regional stability.

  • Five US refuelling tankers were struck and destroyed on ground at Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman Air Base, The Wall Street Journal reported.
  • US President Donald Trump announced that the US military bombed the key Iranian island of Kharag, saying it has been "totally obliterated."
  • In response, Iran warned that oil and energy infrastructure belonging to firms that cooperated with the United States would "immediately be destroyed and turned into a pile of ashes" if Iran's energy facilities were attacked.
  • The US has announced a $10 million award for information on Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khameini and other senior officials.
  • All six crew members of the KC-135 refuelling aircraft that crashed in Iraq were killed in the mishap, the US CENTCOM confirmed.

Iran Israel war: Sanjay Raut accuses govt of spreading rumours that 'everything is running smoothly'
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday slammed the Central and Maharashtra government over the shortage of LPG cylinders, accusing them of spreading "a false narrative" and "engrossing" themselves in the election campaign rather than addressing the issue.

Sanjay Raut claimed that 40 per cent of the hotel industry has shut down due to the shortage, and people are queuing up while the government remains "silent".

He blamed the BJP's "failure" in international politics for the current situation.

"All of this is happening because this government has proven to be a failure in the realm of international politics. With what face do you intend to engage in dialogue with Iran? It is imperative to adopt a neutral stance and extend moral support to Iran; our diplomatic ties are not limited merely to facilitating the release of oil tankers," he added.

Iran Israel war: India repatriates non-essential crew members of Iranian ship in Kochi
India has repatriated the non-essential crew members of an Iranian warship that docked in Kochi on March 4 amid the escalating military conflict between Iran and the US, people familiar with the matter said on Saturday.

Over 50 of the 183 crew members have stayed back as the ship, IRIS Lavan, remains in Kochi, they said.

The non-essential sailors left India by a Turkish airline aircraft. The aircraft landed in Kochi late last night after picking up the bodies from Colombo of over 80 Iranian sailors of another warship that was sunk by a US submarine off the coast of Sri Lanka on March 4.

IRIS Lavan has remained in Kochi since March 4. The ship had developed urgent technical issues and was granted emergency docking approval on March 1 following a request from the Iranian side.

It is learnt that the Iranian sailors of IRIS Lavan will travel to Iran by road from Yerevan, Armenia's capital city.

The repatriation of the crew members comes as New Delhi makes efforts to ensure safe passage for over two dozen Indian-flagged merchant vessels currently stationed on either side of the Strait of Hormuz.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke to his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Thursday night in the fourth such conversation since the West Asia crisis erupted.

Israel Iran War News: Iran says killing of IRIS Dena sailors 'will not go unanswered'
Amir Hatami, commander-in-chief of the Iranian army, has warned that the killing of 104 crew members from the IRIS Dena, one of the country’s newest warships, in the Indian Ocean upon returning from a military exercise, “will not go unanswered."

“The crew of the Dena destroyer had completed a peaceful mission and were targeted while on their way back to Iran,” he was quoted as saying by Iran’s IRNA news agency, adding that the sailors were attacked despite not being engaged in a direct battle.

“The name of Dena and the sacrifice of its crew will remain a symbol of courage and dedication in Iran’s naval history,” Hatami said. “The army will defend Iran’s maritime borders and strengthen its naval power with even greater determination.”

US Iran War: Two Indian-flagged LPG carriers pass through Strait of Hormuz
After Iran granted Indian-flagged tankers safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz amid the US-Israel war, the Indian-flagged LPG tanker ‘Shivalik’ has successfully crossed the Strait and the second LPG vessel, ‘Nanda Devi’, has also safely exited the key oil route.

Government sources said on Saturday that Shivalik is being escorted by the Indian Navy, which is expected to reach an Indian port within the next two days, with Mumbai or Kandla likely to be its destination. The ship has reached open sea and is sailing safely under Indian Navy guidance.

Meanwhile, 'Nanda Devi' is carrying more than 46,000 metric tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), critical for India’s energy supply chain, they added.

According to sources, both ships are being closely guided by naval assets to ensure safe transit through the strategically sensitive waters.

This move follows a high-level discussion between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian regarding the flow of goods and energy.

Israel Iran War News: 'US can provide reliable energy supply to Asia-Pacific,' says interior secretary Doug Burgum
The United States can provide "reliable" energy supplies to Asia-Pacific, US Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said Saturday, as the Middle East war cripples the region's oil and gas flow.

Oil and gas prices have surged since US-Israeli strikes on Iran killed its supreme leader and plunged the Middle East into war.

The conflict has virtually halted traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, a key transit point for oil and gas -- the vast majority of which is destined for Asia.

US President Donald Trump's "energy dominance" policy aims to ensure that "we have energy to allow for prosperity at home, and we have the ability to sell energy to our friends and allies," Burgum told an event in Tokyo bringing together 17 countries from the region.

That ensures the region has a "reliable, affordable and secure" energy supply that "can't be interrupted by a terrorist regime," he said.

Burgum also addressed the need for a secure supply of critical minerals, as countries push to cut their dependence on top exporter China.

Critical minerals such as lithium and cobalt are used in everything from electric vehicles, solar panels and smartphones to jet engines and guided missiles.

The forum, which was organised before the Middle East war erupted on February 28, brings together political leaders and US energy companies aiming to seal commercial agreements.

Israel Iran War: 'Netanyahu duped Trump,' says Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has asserted that the Islamic Republic now views the United States and the Israeli regime as indistinguishable regarding the severity of their actions against the Iranian people.

In a statement shared on X, Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf remarked,"Trump was duped by Netanyahu into starting the war and is now acting under his control."

The Speaker further clarified Tehran's current diplomatic and military stance, noting that, in light of the "major crime they have committed, Iran no longer makes 'any distinction' between the United States and the Zionist regime."

Qalibaf's comments come at a time of intensifying regional conflict, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) continuing its series of "successful and decisive waves of unrelenting retaliatory strikes" against what it describes as hostile American and Israeli installations.

Regarding the future of the military engagement, the Speaker maintained a firm position, declaring that "the war will continue until the enemy's calculus is altered and they are driven to regret."

Israel Iran War: Hezbollah chief warns of 'long confrontation' as Israel hits Lebanese infrastructure
Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has asserted that the Tehran-backed organisation is prepared for a "long confrontation" with Israel, as Israeli authorities warned that Lebanon would face an "increasing price" through extensive damage to its national infrastructure, according to a report by The Times of Israel.

The conflict intensified on Friday following Hezbollah's decision to target Israel in retaliation for the killing of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khameini in joint strikes.

In his second televised address since the hostilities began, Qassem described the situation as an "existential battle, not a limited or simple battle," adding that his forces have "prepared ourselves for a long confrontation" and that the Israeli military "will be surprised on the battlefield."

The Israeli military confirmed it had destroyed a bridge over the Litani River, which connects the towns of Zrarieh and Tayr Falsay.

As reported by The Times of Israel, the IDF identified the structure as a "key crossing" used by Hezbollah to move between northern and southern Lebanon to "prepare for combat against IDF troops" and launch operations against civilians.

This strike represents the first time the Israeli military has officially acknowledged hitting public infrastructure since the war commenced.

The IDF maintained the move was necessary to neutralise a "threat to Israeli civilians and the continued harm to Lebanese civilians," further alleging that rocket launchers had been positioned in the immediate area.

Israel Iran War: Qatar intercepts two missiles, evacuates key areas
Qatar announced on Saturday it intercepted two missiles, after blasts were heard in the capital Doha and authorities said they had evacuated some key areas.

Interceptors were seen downing two projectiles over the Qatari capital's downtown area and blasts were heard, according to AFP journalists, as Iran presses on with its retaliatory air campaign against Gulf states.

Earlier, the interior ministry said in a statement it was "evacuating several key areas as a temporary precautionary measure, within the framework of ensuring public safety until the danger has passed".

In Doha's central Musheireb district some residents received phone alerts telling them to "evacuate the area immediately... to the nearest safest place as a temporary precaution".

Scores of residents and some hotel guests in Musheireb rushed into underground car parks for shelter, an AFP journalist witnessed.

Iran War News: Dry fruit prices soar in Hyderabad amid Middle East tensions
Dry fruit prices in Hyderabad have surged by nearly 30-40 per cent as escalating geopolitical tensions in West Asia disrupt supply chains, affecting imports from key producing regions such as Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, and parts of the Middle East.

Traders in the city say the ongoing conflicts involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, along with border tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, have significantly slowed the movement of goods, leading to delays and higher transportation costs.

The disruption has particularly impacted businesses dependent on imports from these regions, with several consignments either delayed or stranded in transit. Traders say the instability has forced suppliers to shift to costlier logistics options such as air cargo, further increasing the prices of dry fruits in local markets. The sudden rise in prices is also affecting consumer demand, as retailers struggle to maintain a stable supply and convince customers amid the steep hike. (ANI)

Iran war: US sending 2,500 Marines and at least one more warship to Middle East, report says
Roughly 2,500 Marines and at least one amphibious assault ship are headed for the Middle East, a U.S. official told The Associated Press.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive military plans, said that elements from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli have been ordered to the Middle East. The move would mark a major addition of troops to the region.

Marine Expeditionary Units are not only trained and equipped to conduct amphibious landings but they also specialize in bolstering security at embassies, evacuating civilians, and disaster relief. While the deployment is a major increase of troops to the region, it does not necessarily indicate that a ground operation is imminent or will take place at all.

The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, as well the Tripoli and other amphibious assault ships carrying the Marines are based in Japan and have been at sea in the waters of the Pacific Ocean for the past several days, according to images released by the military. Their location puts them more than a week away from the waters off Iran.

The deployment of the additional Marines was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

War between Iran, Israel, and the United States erupted after US-Israeli air strikes on February 28 killed Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei. Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks, particularly around the strategic Strait of Hormuz, disrupting shipping and sending global oil prices soaring.

Tehran has warned the war could become a prolonged conflict capable of damaging the world economy, while US President Donald Trump insists Washington must “finish the job,” claiming most Iranian targets have already been hit.

The fighting has spread regionally, with Hezbollah launching attacks on Israel from Lebanon, prompting Israeli retaliation. The war has already caused heavy casualties, mass displacement, and major disruption to energy markets and aviation.

As tensions rise and diplomatic efforts stall at the United Nations Security Council, fears are mounting that the conflict could widen further and trigger a major global economic shock.

Tehran's retaliatory operations have also targeted American military bases in Gulf countries. Last week, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian "apologised' for the attacks and stated that Tehran would strike only if attacked first.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that the Iranian air force and navy have both been completely destroyed, leaving the country defenceless.
