While no suspects have been identified as of now, County Sheriff Chris Nanos updated about the case on May 12 that the department, the FBI, and other labs are working hard to get the matter resolved. “I think every day they get closer. There’s way too much work to be done, that is ongoing, with some of the physical evidence we have,” he said, referring to the mixed DNA found near the house that is still under investigation, as per the aforementioned outlet.
Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie’s family expressed their gratitude to the neighbours and families who have been supportive during the difficult period. “We are deeply grateful for the outpouring from neighbors, friends and the people of Tucson. We are all family now,” the Guthrie siblings said in a statement for KVOA News 4 Tucson's special, ‘Bring Her Home: The Disappearance of Nancy Guthrie,’ before adding, “We continue to believe it is Tucsonans, and the greater southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding resolution in this case.Savannah Guthrie has been outspoken about her loss and continues to put in efforts. Even during Mother’s Day, the co-host shared a video featuring many clips of Nancy Guthrie.
