Blurry photos have long been one of the most frustrating problems for smartphone users. Whether it’s a quick snapshot ruined by shaky hands, a candid moment spoiled by motion blur, or an old memory captured on a low-quality camera, these imperfections often make images unusable. Google has tackled this challenge head-on with its Photo Unblur feature in Google Photos, an AI-powered tool that can restore clarity and detail with just a tap.
Photo Unblur is part of Google’s growing suite of intelligent editing tools, alongside Magic Eraser and Portrait Light, designed to make professional-level photo fixes accessible to everyday users. What sets Photo Unblur apart is its ability to analyze the causes of blur — whether from movement, poor focus, or lighting conditions — and intelligently sharpen the image without over-processing. The result is a cleaner, crisper photo that preserves natural tones and textures.
Available on Android, iOS, and Chromebook Plus devices, Photo Unblur is not just about salvaging old or imperfect shots; it’s about giving users confidence that even spontaneous, imperfectly captured moments can be turned into shareable memories.
