DRINKS BREAK. Well, that's a bit surprising. Less than 40 minutes to go for Lunch but the umpires have called for a break. All the same, we cannot have a session for 80 minutes without a break either. So yeah, maybe, taking the middle option. What a sense of belief for Sri Lanka. After 6 overs, the scoreboard read 30/0 for Australia and the talks were, poor captaincy, giving away too many easy singles, no tight fields etccc but then, in the next 4 overs, the scenario has changed. On pitches like these, it takes just one ball to create suspicion in the minds of the batters and that ball to Head might have well done it, as the Aussies are mostly looking to play from the back foot, a total no no on this pitch.

The dangerous Travis Head departs and what a moment for the off-spinner Nishan Peiris, who had a poor first Test. It is he who draws first blood for his team. He comes in from around the wicket, keeps it slower through the air, around middle, and gets it to turn away a bit. Travis Head wants to loft it as he comes down the track and goes for a big shot towards the leg side, but he gets too close to the pitch of the ball as Peiris follows him after seeing him coming down the track.
