Adds that he just wants to win those key moments and he doesn’t want to do anything different at this juncture and just stick to what they have been doing so far. Recently, New Zealand successfully chased 305 against South Africa here and then went on to win the tri-series, beating Pakistan in the final, and senior batter Tom Latham feels those experiences will hold them in good stead.

Latham has been New Zealand's best batter so far with 187 runs from three matches, but Kane Williamson's return to form with a classy 81 against India also augurs well for the Kiwis.

"Yeah, the (South Africa) team that we played potentially will be slightly different, they had a lot of guys that that weren't in that side. They were still playing in their SAT20 back in South Africa so will be slightly different.

"But I guess from our point of view, we'll lean back on those experiences of Lahore in playing against South Africa," Latham had said.

"We'll do everything that we do leading up to a game. It's obviously going to be a reasonably quick turnaround, but it is what it is. And, we'll be looking forward to the challenge of a semifinal," he added referring to the hectic travel schedule.

Mitchell Santner on the scheduling controversy: "Scheduling is an issue all around but when you do have time to rest and recover, you should. One day cricket can be quite exhausting on the body, and for us, it might be about making sure bowlers are ready for tomorrow. I don't think they're going to be doing much today in training."

Temba Bavuma denied there was any added pressure on them: "We'll approach it as we normally would. We obviously want to play our best cricket. We understand New Zealand will obviously come with a certain challenge and we'll have to prepare accordingly but I think Marco [Jansen] said it, it's just another game for us. Yes, it's important but we definitely won't be blowing it out of proportion. It's the semi-final, we want to play our best cricket."

SA vs NZ Live Score: Ricky Ponting on the matchup
South Africa have a "bit more class and power" in their lineup, which makes them favourites in the Champions Trophy semifinal against New Zealand, feels Ricky Ponting.

Ponting said with a deep batting line-up, just like India, South Africa enjoy an edge.

"If I look at both the sides, I think there's that little bit more class in the South African line-up. They bat deep. I think they might have a little bit too much power for New Zealand," Pointing opined on ICC Review on Tuesday.

"I'm actually going with South Africa (to win the contest) as much as I've praised New Zealand," he added.

He conceded Kane Williamson could be decisive if New Zealand were to make an impact.

"Williamson, I think, needs to make runs for them in this game. Every team needs their big players standing up in big moments. Big games mean big names. It doesn't get bigger than the Champions Trophy semifinals. And, Williamson is a big-game player, he will understand the enormity of his role going into the game and I won't be surprised if he gets the job done," Ponting said.

SA vs NZ Live Score: Preview
Both New Zealand and South Africa are brimming with world-class talent yet burdened by the label of underachievers in ICC events. New Zealand and South Africa will face off in the Champions Trophy semi-final with India waiting in the title clash.

Each team has previously claimed the Champions Trophy once, with South Africa winning in 1998 and New Zealand in 2000, although the tournament was then known as the ICC Knockout Trophy and lacked the current level of prestige.

As South Africa aims to break free from their reputation as "chokers" in major tournaments, New Zealand is equally eager to secure a title, having finished as runners-up in the ODI World Cup twice (2015 and 2019) and once in the T20 World Cup (2021).
South Africa vs New Zealand Live, Champions Trophy Semi-Final: Centuries from Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson powered New Zealand to a big total of 362 for 6 -- the highest in Champions Trophy history -- against South Africa in the second semifinal at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.

The duo shared 164 runs for the second wicket to provide the perfect platform for the later batters to blast away in the final overs.

New Zealand added 112 runs in the final 10 overs after reaching 250 in 40 overs.

Daryl Mitchel (49 off 37 balls), Glenn Phillips (49 not out off 27) and Michael Bracewell (16 off 12) provided the fire power in the final overs as South African bowlers wilted on a good batting track.

The semifinal will mark the end of the Champions Trophy in Pakistan as the final will now be played in Dubai on March 9 between India and the winners of Wednesday's match.

Opting to bat, New Zealand's left-handed opener Ravindra blasted 108 of 101 balls with 13 fours and one six while stalwart Williamson struck 102 off 94 balls with 10 fours and two sixes.

New Zealand built on a strong opening stand of 48 between Ravindra and Will Young, who scored 21 off 23 balls before he was dismissed by Lungi Ngidi in the eighth over.

After conceding just 32 in his first six overs, Ngidi went for runs in his final overs though he finished with three wickets.

Ravindra scored his second century of this Champions Trophy after his 112 against Bangladesh and fifth hundred in an ICC tournament. He had scored three centuries in the World Cup in India in 2023.

Williamson batted calmly after early jitters to get to his 15th hundred and his fourth against South Africa. He has now scored hundreds in his last three ODIs against the Proteas.

The right and left handed combination of New Zealand proved difficult for the South African bowlers with all-rounder Wiaan Mulder going off with a strain after bowling six overs for 48 runs and one wicket.
