Mentions that there is a fair bit of grass covering, which should offer some seam movement early on. Believes that the pitch might play a little on the slower side. Informs that the average first-innings score here is around 270, with 296 being the average winning total, something England will certainly have their eye on.
English all-rounder, Jamie Overton is down for a chat. He says that he hasn't been able to contribute with the bat much in the past, but hopes that they can finish with a win. Reckons that they are a positive team but sometimes it is absorbing pressure and a few things haven't gone their way so far. Adds that they aren't out of form, it is just that they haven't managed to go on and get the big total.
Daryl Mitchell is up for a chat. Mentions that it is nice to win games for New Zealand. Says that it does a little bit in New Zealand in October, so it is about adapting. Shares that he loves playing for the country, and the personal matters do not matter much to him. Further says that England are a world-class team and credits his bowlers for the way they have contained them. Regarding the surface, he feels that it might do a bit early doors since it is early summer and there might be a bit of tennis ball kind of bounce. Reckons that it will be about navigating through that early phase and then making hay.
England's captain, Harry Brook cheekily says that he would like to win a toss in the near future. Mentions that they will look to go out there and play with freedom. Adds that it is all about being present with the bat and putting the pressure on the bowlers. Informs that they are unchanged for this game.
The captain of New Zealand, Mitchell Santner believes that this is a good wicket, but it feels a bit soft and has a good grass covering. Informs that they have one change with Kane Williamson missing out due to a groin niggle and Devon Conway replacing him. Adds that they have the same composition as the last game, with four seamers and two spinners. Shares that it is a good place to be with guys coming in and stepping up straight away.
