A bit too close to cut but Jacob Bethell flashes hard at it in hope, even if he gets an outside edge, it flies over the slip cordon. It does fly towards first slip, where Mitchell leaps acrobatically to his left and holds onto it over his head. Duffy has his third wicket. England have now lost half their side for just 44 runs on the board.

Time for Powerplay 2! The first 10 overs were completely bossed by the Kiwi quicks. It is all about weathering the storm for England, and the challenge doesn’t seem to be easing anytime soon, with the ball still doing plenty. New Zealand can now have four fielders outside the 30-yard circle, but it’s unlikely they will want to spread the field just yet.
