Trent Boult to Shubman Gill, Oh, that's a risky push from Gill! A tad fuller and wider of the off stump, this is angled across, Gill steps out and then adjusts to just pat it away but is beaten past the outside edge.
Uh oh! The wind has picked up, and with it comes the rain. The ground staff are preparing to bring the covers on but thankfully, the drizzle is not heavy enough for now for the play to halt.

Trent Boult to Sai Sudharsan, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Trent Boult draws first blood for MI and the Wankhede Stadium erupts. The length is immaculate here, not all that full, angled in towards the off stump and then the ball just curves away after pitching. Sai Sudharsan is neither forward nor completely back and just looks to push at it. The ball finds the outside edge and Ryan Rickelton pouches it safely to his left. GT are 6/1!
Trent Boult to Sai Sudharsan, Peach of a delivery! Lovely seam presentation, bowling it a bit full in the channel and getting it to genuinely swing away from the left-hander. Sai Sudharsan has a poke at it and is beaten past the outside edge.
Who will bowl from the other end? It will be Trent Boult. Hardik Pandya has put himself at short mid on.

All in readiness for the chase to begin. Out walk the two openers of the Gujarat Titans, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. Deepak Chahar will open the attack for the Mumbai Indians. A slip in place for Sai. Here we go!
... THE RUN CHASE ...
The pitch has offered some turn, and apart from the odd ball holding up a bit, it hasn’t been particularly difficult to bat on. GT's top three have done the heavy lifting, and MI will believe that if they can dismiss them cheaply, they can target the untested middle and lower order. For GT, the focus will be on their opening pair to get the chase underway and calm those early nerves. Back in a bit for the chase.
Rashid Khan is in for a chat. He says he is feeling like he is close to his best, maybe around 70-75 per cent. Feels he has missed the length many times, and that’s why he has gone for runs, and today he focused on his lengths, and that’s why he got some good results. Mentions he is getting back to his best and he is trying to get all these demons out of his mind. Shares that there is something for some spinners, but it is important to bowl in the right areas to get results. Credits Sai Kishore for the way he bowled. States that this total is chaseable and they need to play good cricket and someone needs to take the responsibility in the top order
At 89/2 at the halfway mark, MI looked well placed, but the innings unravelled quickly once the partnership was broken. From a commanding position at 97/2, they collapsed to 123/7. First, Sai Kishore and Rashid Khan made key breakthroughs, followed by the pairing of Gerald Coetzee and Prasidh Krishna. With a few lusty blows towards the end, Corbin Bosch helped MI cross 150, but the platform they had laid for themselves promised a lot more.
Earlier, after winning the toss, the Gujarat Titans struck early by removing both openers. It could have been an even better start had they held on to their chances, with three catches going down in the Powerplay. Will Jacks, dropped on 0 and 29, cashed in, as did Suryakumar Yadav, who was let off on 10. The duo laid a strong platform with a 71-run stand.
A final-over flourish for MI, but overall, it was an innings that promised a lot but left much to be desired. The last 10 overs saw MI score only 66 runs and lose 6 wickets. Given the fielding lapses in the Powerplay, GT will be quite pleased to have restricted MI to 155.
Prasidh Krishna to Deepak Chahar, FOUR! Deepak Chahar finishes on a high and Mumbai Indians have a score on board. Prasidh Krishna goes short of a length at the death again and bowls it around off. Chahar fetches the ball and clobbers it wide of deep mid-wicket and strikes it well enough to beat a chasing Rashid Khan to his left. 18 off the final over and MI finish with 155/8 on the board!
Prasidh Krishna to Karn Sharma, Back of a length over middle and leg, Karn Sharma looks to lean back and pull but mistimes it through wide mid-wicket for a single.
Karn Sharma walks in as MI's impact sub. Rohit Sharma has been subbed out.

Prasidh Krishna to Corbin Bosch, OUT! RUN OUT! That is sensational work from Jos Buttler and Corbin Bosch has to depart after a fighting knock. Prasidh Krishna bowls it on a hard length and over middle, Bosch stands tall and pulls it away in front of deep mid-wicket for a single. However, the batters go for the second as an afterthought, and Rashid Khan is a bit sluggish to release the ball. The throw is wide at the keeper's end but Jos parries and flicks the ball back towards the stumps. Bosch dives in to make his ground but replays show that he was a couple of inches short.
Ouch! A nasty blow on the helmet for Corbin Bosch. The physio sprints out for the concussion check. A replacement helmet is being brought out for Corbin. Bosch is ready to resume.
Prasidh Krishna to Corbin Bosch, Oh, that's ruffled the feathers! Expecting a slower delivery after those two mighty blows but Krishna goes even aggressive with a quick bumper and nails it around off. Corbin Bosch is just rushed and before he can even lift his bat for the swing, the ball crashes into the side of his helmet. Hoepfully, he is fine.
Prasidh Krishna to Corbin Bosch, SIX! Oh, that's sailed over as well! Krishna goes full and attempts the yorker on off, Corbin Bosch goes down on one knee and plays the reverse sweep to a ball that was clocked at 150 KPH! Prasidh Krishna to Corbin Bosch, Short ball over leg, pulled away down to deep backward square leg for a single.
Prasidh Krishna to Corbin Bosch, SAFE! A better throw and that would have been curtains for Deepak Chahar! Full and straight, Bosch jams it across to mid-wicket and sets off for the single before deciding against it. Sai Sudharsan with a quick pick up but a sluggish throw at the bowler's end. Prasidh Krishna collects it and whips off the bails but replays show that Chahar had just managed to get back in time.
Prasidh Krishna to Deepak Chahar, Very full and on the pads, flicked away down to fine leg for a single.
Prasidh Krishna to Deepak Chahar, Oh, that nearly went through! Good length on off, darting back in and staying a bit low as well. Deepak Chahar manages to jam his bat down in time.
Deepak Chahar walks in at number 9.
Prasidh Krishna to Naman Dhir, OUT! CAUGHT! That is such a difficult length to go after and Prasidh Krishna picks up his 20th wicket of the campaign, the first one to do so in the 2025 IPL season. Prasidh hits the deck hard, bowling it around off and not too short. Naman Dhir hangs back and tries to charge down the track and force it over the infield. Ends up slicing it towards mid off where Shubman Gill takes the simplest of catches. MI are now 123/7 and in danger of being bundled out here.
Prasidh Krishna to Naman Dhir, Back of a length and around off, punched down towards covers by Dhir.
