The BCCI is preparing to lodge a formal protest against ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi after he walked away with the Asia Cup trophy when India refused to accept it in Dubai.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told TOI that while India had decided not to take the award from Naqvi, who is also Pakistan’s Interior Minister, “that does not mean that the gentleman will take away the trophy.”
He confirmed that BCCI representatives Rajiv Shukla and Ashish Shelar will raise the issue in the ACC meeting in Dubai, and if unresolved, the matter will be escalated to the ICC Board in November.
