Similarly, Scotland Under-19's Ollie Jones too, had a chat with Farrant. Says that Scotland have had a lots of positives from their game against Pakistan, especially from their second innings, where they showed a lot of fight. On his own all-round performance in that match, Jones says that he just kept it simple with his bowling. Adds that especially against batters from Pakistan who feast on anything wide, he kept it pretty boring, doing the same thing again and again.
Before the game, England Under-19's Ben Dawkins had a chat with Farrant. Says that the mood is brilliant in the camp, with the boys being up and ready. Hopes that his side can peform well today. On his strengths against the new ball, Dawkins says that he has done a lot of practice againt the new ball in the nets and his greatest strength is hitting on the up. On managing cricket with his studies, Ben admits that it is very tricky but it is all about finding a balance and knowing what to do when. Ends by saying that doing both together helps him - as in, when he is away from the game, he can focus on studies and vice versa.
PITCH REPORT - Former England seamer Tash Farrant informs that yesterday there was a lot of rain. Praises the groundstaff for getting the ground ready for today's clash, though observes that there is a little bit of dampness in the outfield. Former Zimbabwe batter Tino Mawoyo has a look at the deck now. Informs that this is the same wicket which was used for the Zimbabwe-England game. Adds that usually, at this venue, the pitches are very spicy in the morning, before becoming a batting paradise later on. Observes that there is a fair grass cover but it is well rolled into the pitch. Also says that there are a few cracks visible which do indicate dryness but also says that if you look at the colour, it is brown, so expect plenty of moisture.
The captain of England Under-19, THOMAS REW, says that this is a used wicket, and it might deteriorate like the other day. So is not too fussed about the toss. On trying to make it three wins from the league, Rew says that it is a huge thing, as England will try to take full points into the Super Six. Wants to try and take momentum from the last couple of games. On the thought to rest a few players signalling the risk of losing momentum, Thomas says that it will not be the case as they have got a good squad of 15 players, with everyone capable of doing the job on that day. On the team news, TR says that James Minto is resting and so is Alex French. So Alex Green and Sebastian Morgan come in.
The skipper of Scotland Under-19, THOMAS KNIGHT, says that there is a lot of cloud cover and lot of moisture, hence he would want to try and get wickets early. On their tournament so far, Knight says that Scotland have worked really hard. Explains that while they have been decent with the ball, with the bat, they have got a lot of starts. Counts those as positives. On the support from the Scottish fans in the crowd, Thomas calls it amazing. Adds that the fans have been loud and enjoying themelves which makes it a great atmosphere. On the team news, Tk informs that Shlok Thaker is out and Ram Sharma replaces him.
