The stalemate between the BJP and Shiv Sena over government formation in Maharashtra continued on Tuesday with the BJP placing the ball in its ally's court by saying there was yet "no proposal from the Sena" and the Sena retorting that its proposal to share the CM's post and distribute ministerial posts equally had been lying with the BJP for long. Saamna says ‘outgoing CM’ holding on to his post 'unconstitutionally'

The Shiv Sena on Tuesday indirectly asked chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to step down from the post by terming him the “outgoing chief minister” in an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamna and accusing him of creating issues in government formation so that he could retain power “unconstitutionally.” Sena MP Sanjay Raut also reiterated on Tuesday morning that the next chief minister would be from the Sena.
