The party in a statement said it will share details of its poll outing in the eastern state soon. NCP president Sharad Pawar will be the party's key star campaigner for the polls, it said. Maharashtra Minority Affairs Minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik, party MPs Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare, Supriya Sule and Fauzia Khan are among the other star campaigners.

Bihar: LJP turns ‘shelter home’ for JD(U) & BJP rebels

First, it was BJP state vice-president Rajendra Singh and JD (U) former minister Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, who joined LJP on Tuesday. They were followed by two more BJP leaders Usha Vidyarthi and Rameshwar Chaurasiya, who joined the Chirag Paswan-led the party on Wednesday. Vidyarthi joined in the presence of party president Paswan in New Delhi.

A dozen discarded BJP, JD(U) candidates find refuge in LJP

About 10 BJP members, including a couple of former and sitting MLAs, are likely to get LJP tickets. Two sitting JD(U) MLAs, who have been dropped, were adopted by LJP and will enter the fray as the party’s candidates to take on nominees of CM Nitish Kumar. LJP plans to include them in the initial list of about 70 seats to take on JD(U) nominees.

BJP gives 11 seats to VIP, warns LJP

The Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) led by Mukesh Sahani on Wednesday got 11 seats from the BJP quota of 121 to contest the three-phase Bihar assembly election. BJP has also promised one legislative council seat to VIP. Sahani’s high profile induction into NDA was announced on Wednesday in the presence BJP’s Bihar election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis. Speaking at the event, Fadnavis made it clear to LJP chief Chirag Paswan that his decision to quit NDA was unilateral and that his party’s entry into the alliance was impossible.
