NEW DELHI: An encounter broke out in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district after terrorists opened fire on security forces during a search operation, officials said on Tuesday. According to the Army’s Chinar Corps, Operation Arahama was launched jointly by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Arahama area based on specific intelligence inputs. During the search, troops noticed suspicious movement and challenged the suspects.“On being challenged, terrorists opened fire and own troops retaliated. Operation is in progress,” the Chinar Corps said in a post on X.
