Allocation of Remdesivir for states increased significantly: Gowda
In a tweet, Gowda said, "To ensure adequate uninterrupted supply to the needy COVID-19 patients allocation of #Remdesivir for the states has been significantly increased." In another tweet, the minister said, "Medical oxygen allotment for Karnataka has also been increased from 802 MT/day to 865 MT/day." A total of 34.5 lakh remdesivir vials are allocated to the states and union territories from April 21 to May 9, 2021, Gowda said.

MP's oxygen situation on surplus side, says minister
State home minister Narottam Mishra said the cycle of oxygen tankers arriving from different places had set in properly and this would ensure availability of the vital gas in the coming days as well. "There was a huge oxygen crisis in the state eight days back. As of today, we are on the surplus side as far as availability of oxygen is concerned," Mishra, also the state government spokesperson, told reporters.

Bengal's single-day Covid toll crosses 100-mark; 17,512 new cases reported
West Bengal on Saturday reported the highest one-day COVID-19 deaths with 103 people succumbing to the infection, the health department said in a bulletin. The state's coronavirus death toll is 11,447 now. The tally rose to 8,45,878 as a record single-day spike of 17,512 cases was registered.
