Naheed Umair, wife of the late Dr Mirza Umair Beg, thanked all the relatives and guests for their presence. Teary eyed, she described the loss of Dr Beg as the light going out of her life, saying “He was not just my husband, but my mentor, friend, and companion who inspired me to find purpose in life.” People shared their memories of Dr Beg and expressed how deeply they felt the void left by his passing—a loss that can never be fulfilled. As the evening drew to a close, a sense of gratitude lingered in the air.— Manas Mishra
