CHENNAI: Chief minister M K Stalin, VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan and DMDK general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant launched ajoint attack on
AIADMK and
BJP in Cuddalore on Tuesday.
While Stalin alleged that NDA would stop the welfare programmes of DMK govt if AIADMK comes to power, Premallatha said the election results would deal a blow to the ‘arrogance’ of AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami.
Thirumavalavan attacked the AIADMKBJP combine as well as TVK. “You can only whistle in the theatre, not in the assembly,’’ Thirumavalavan said. “Only the secular alliance led by DMK can save this soil and its people,’’ he added.
Earlier in Sirkazhi, Stalin hit out at Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis for stating that Madurai would get a metro rail project if BJP wins the elections.
“Is this the kind of speech expected from a chief minister who has taken oath on the Constitution?” he said, calling it a blackmail by Fadnavis.
