VISAKHAPATNAM: Two more suspected
swine flu cases were admitted to the King George Hospital (KGH) and Government Hospital for Chest and Communicable Diseases in the city on Wednesday. This comes at a time when a 15-year-old girl undergoing treatment at the chest hospital in the city has been confirmed positive for swine flu. However, she is out of danger and on the way to recovery.
Meanwhile, the confirmation reports of the 20-year-old pregnant woman being treated at KGH are awaited.
Giving details of the suspected swine flu patients admitted at KGH, its medical superintendent Dr M Madhusudana Babu said, βA six-year-old girl from Srikakulam has been admitted today, while the 36-weeks pregnant woman suspected of suffering from
H1N1 is undergoing treatment at the isolation ward. They are both stable.β
Government Chest Hospital medical superintendent Dr Sambasiva Rao said, βOn Wednesday, a 14-year-old male child from Vizag city suspected to be suffering from swine flu was admitted, while the H1N1 positive 56-year-old woman is stable. Reports of the other suspected patients are awaited. The 15-year-old girl undergoing treatment in our hospital has reported swine flu positive, but since she was provided early treatment, she is absolutely fine.β
Meanwhile, Araku MP Kothapalli Geetha, who was undergoing treatment for swine flu at a private hospital in the city since January 29, was discharged on Tuesday evening just in time for her to celebrate her birthday on Wednesday.
