UP BJP president in city today, to be felicitated at 10 sites

Varanasi: On his first visit to Varanasi after taking charge as BJP state president, Pankaj Chaudhary will be welcomed at 10 points along the route from the Ghazipur border to the Circuit House on Wednesday evening. To turn his two-day visit into a grand show, the BJP's Kashi region, district and city units have held a series of meetings and finalized detailed arrangements.BJP Kashi region president Dilip Patel convened a meeting of party office-bearers at the unit's Rohaniya office to take stock of the preparations. The unit's spokesman, Navratan Rathi, said that the district and city units will make arrangements to welcome the state president at 4 and 6 points respectively. Travelling by road from Gorakhpur via Ghazipur, Chaudhary will cross the Varanasi border around 5pm on Wednesday. As he enters, the BJP's grand welcome kicks off at Kaithi, complete with drums, conch shells and a rain of rose petals. After that, the BJP city unit will host a grand reception for Chaudhary at Ashapur, amid chants of "Har-Har Mahadev" and a shower of flower petals. Patel said that Chaudhary will stay at Circuit House at night, and will offer prayers at the KV and Kaal Bhairav temples on Thursday morning. After this, he will go to the MP public relations office at Jawaharnagar Colony in Bhelupur. He will hold a meeting with district and city unit office-bearers, presidents of all 7 frontal organisations, and all mandal presidents under the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency at the regional unit office in Rohania at 11 am.After 12 noon, his meeting with office-bearers of 16 organisational districts under the Kashi region will take place at Gokul Dham Resort in Jagatpur. Chaudhary will depart for Delhi by flight on Thursday afternoon.
