Gorakhpur: Personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) donated blood at Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College on Friday. The drive was organized under the supervision of deputy inspector general (DIG) Munna Singh, coinciding with the launch of a nationwide blood donation campaign on the 18th death anniversary of Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani, organised by Brahma Kumaris and its social service wing.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Munna Singh said the primary aim of the campaign is to raise awareness about voluntary blood donation. He emphasized that regular donation not only saves lives but also helps regulate excess iron levels in the body, which is beneficial for heart health. "Often, patients face emergencies where blood levels drop dangerously low, and they depend on donors. In such situations, voluntary donations can prove lifesaving," he added. All donors were felicitated with appreciation certificates by the college.
