Trichy district adds 20,748 voters after revision exercise
Trichy: The nine assembly constituencies of Trichy district have altogether added 20,748 voters to the electorate after the additions and deletions approved by the Election Commission of India (ECI) as of April 6.The electorate in the district stood at 21,26,303 as of the revision completed on Feb 23 and has now increased to 21,47,051. Thiruverumbur constituency has added the highest number of voters, post both addition and deletion, followed by Srirangam and Trichy West constituencies. The revision exercise completed based on the forms submitted by residents, including at special camps conducted so far, will be the final exercise before the polling day on April 23. Even after the revision, Srirangam has the highest number of electors at 2,87,027. With 2,10,685 voters, Thuraiyur (reserved) constituency has the least number of electors. Women voters outnumber men in all nine segments. Trichy district has 11,05,841 female voters against 10,40,900 male voters. There are 310 third-gender voters. The maximum is in Thiruverumbur and Trichy East constituencies. The number of polling booths has also increased from 2,785 to 2,787.
