Oza said the walkathon achieved a milestone this year by receiving affiliation from the Fit India initiative, giving the cancer awareness programme a unique recognition.
Jyotika Joshi, founder of Sparsh Cancer Care, emphasised that healing goes beyond medical treatment. "It requires mental strength, emotional balance, physical fitness, and strong social support," she said.
Sparsh Cancer Care works in cancer prevention, patient care, health awareness, skill development, and lifestyle transformation. This year's event, organised in partnership with Bhavnagar Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) and Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation (BMC), aligns with the World Cancer Day theme, "United by Unique."
