She clearly said, “It is absolutely brilliant, but we haven’t decided on a director and are not sure when it will materialise.” This shows that the story is ready, but the film still needs time to move forward. ‘Padayappa’ was released in 1999 and became a massive blockbuster. The film was directed by KS Ravikumar and the story was written by Rajinikanth himself. It tells the story of a kind engineer who comes back to his village. He faces problems from his greedy step-sister and many enemies. He fights back using his brain, honesty, and strong values. The film also shows his clash with Neelambari, played by Ramya Krishnan. Her role became iconic. The movie also starred Soundarya, Lakshmi, Sithara, Radha Ravi, and others. Rajinikanth will next be seen in ‘Jailer 2’, which is a sequel to the 2023 hit ‘Jailer’. The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and is expected to be released by mid-2026. Stars like Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi, Vidya Balan, and Mithun Chakraborty are expected to appear. After that, Rajinikanth will act in ‘Thalaivar173’, directed by Cibi Chakravarthy and backed by Kamal Haasan. It is said to be a light-hearted action entertainer.
