Valuables worth Rs 50 lakh stolen from 2 houses
Patna: Thieves broke into the locked house of two brothers—both govt officers—and decamped with jewellery, cash and other valuables worth over Rs 50 lakh in Anand Vihar Colony under Beur police station area in Patna Wednesday night. The family was away at their ancestral village to attend the shradh ceremony of their mother.The victims are Samdarshi Paswan, a marketing officer posted in Piro (Bhojpur), and his younger brother Ravi Bhushan Paswan, a block development officer (BDO) in Samastipur. The brothers live jointly with their families in the same house.According to Beur police, the stolen items include gold chains, necklaces, mangalsutra, jitiya, silver anklets, rings and other valuables. The family also reported that around 200–250 gm of old gold jewellery belonging to their mother, kept in a safe, was stolen. Police said further investigation is underway.
