Buxar: A motivational and career guidance seminar was organised on Friday at Government Engineering College (GEC), Buxar. The seminar aimed to guide students in preparing for GATE, Engineering Services Examination (ESE), and other competitive tests, along with providing insights into career planning.
The keynote speaker Shishir Parsai, an academician and motivational speaker, discussed the psychology of competitive exam aspirants and explained career opportunities in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) through GATE, including selection process, salary packages, and growth prospects.

Parsai also highlighted the benefits of pursuing M Tech from premier institutions such as IISc, IITs, and NITs, focusing on academic environment, research exposure, and placement opportunities. A special session was held on the UPSC-conducted Engineering Services Examination, where he explained the exam pattern, preparation strategy, and recent inclusion of railway vacancies.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Ramnaresh Rai, principal of the institute. The chief guest was felicitated by Anjani Kumar Tiwari, dean (academic), and RN Yadav, registrar; Gaurav Parmar, coordinator, assisted in organising the event. A large number of students attended the seminar.
