PATNA: More than 400 students from 15 city schools will participate in on-spot drawing, painting and quiz competitions at the Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park (also known as Patna zoo) to mark the International Tiger Day on Sunday.
“Keeping in mind the rainy season, the competitions will either be organized at the Interpretation Centre near the zoo’s second gate or near the starting point of the toy train.

The event will begin from 10am and continue till 1.30pm,” Patna zoo director Amit Kumar told this newspaper on Saturday.
Winners of different contests will be felicitated during the Wildlife Week in October. According to Kumar, “The zoo authorities will screen two films — Hollywood adventure drama ‘Two Brothers’ directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud and docu-drama ‘Reintroduction of Tigers’.”
The zoo director will also address a lecture in which he will discuss some important issues related to big cats.
“It will be an interactive session where I will talk about wildlife conservation, the importance of tigers in the ecosystem and how the tiger census is conducted,” Kumar said and added students of Loyola High School, St Michael’s’ High School, Notre Dame Academy, May Flower School, Don Bosco Academy and several other government schools would participate in the event.
