The Khandeshwar police have arrested a man from Walavli village in Nawade area of Taloja on Monday night for allegedly murdering his wife, after assaulting her with an iron cycle stand and a roller pin.

NAVI MUMBAI: The Khandeshwar police have arrested a man from Walavli village in Nawade area of Taloja on Monday night for allegedly murdering his wife, after assaulting her with an iron cycle stand and a roller pin.
Assistant inspector Amol Deshmukh said, “Dinesh Jaiswal (30), an auto driver and his wife Gomati alias Apsara Devi (24) drank regularly.

Jaiswal objected to his wife consuming liquor daily and often quarreled with her. On November 10, past midnight, Jaiswal came home drunk and found his wife inebriated, too.” The accused allegedly kicked his wife and hit her with an iron cycle stand and a roller pin. The woman sustained internal injuries.
In the morning, neighbours heard the children crying and found the woman unconscious and bleeding while the accused was away. They called the cops, took her to the hospital where she was declared brought dead. “The husband was nabbed while he was trying to flee. The court has remanded him to police custody till November 17.”
