Nashik: A joint operation carried out by the Nashik Rural and Thane Rural police led to the arrest of three men who were involved in the March 2 robbery case on the Samruddhi Expressway.
According to the police, a family of four, including three women, was travelling by car from Ulhasnagar in Thane to visit a temple in Sambhajinagar. "They were robbed by unidentified people on the expressway near Nashik on March 2," a police officer said.
Inspector Hemantkumar Bhamre of the Sinnar police said the action of arresting the criminals was done during a joint operation by the Thane Rural and Nashik Rural police.
"The robbers concerned were wanted by the Thane Rural police in three cases. Once the custody period of the Thane Rural police is over, the Nashik Rural police would get their custody," Bhamre said.
As per the complaint registered, the accused threatened to kill them with sharp weapons before fleeing.
