Nashik: Three members of a family, including a four-year-old boy, were killed in a car accident on the Mumbai-Agra highway near Umrane, in rural Nashik, on Friday morning. Inspector Sarthak Nehte, of the Deola police station, said three other members of the same family were also injured in the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Ankita Nafade (25), Deepak Nafade (38) and Pratamesh Naphade (4). The Nafade family was travelling by car and proceeding towards Malegaon. At 8.30am, while driving past the Umrane village, Deepak Nafade lost control of the vehicle, after which the car toppled on the roadside and turned turtle.
The accident victims, residents of Muktainagar in Jalgaon, were travelling from Nashik to their village to attend a function.
The injured people have been identified as Charulata Nafade, Sanjay Nafade and Puja Deepak Nafade. They were shifted to a hospital in Malegaon.
Soon after the accident, people in the area helped move the victims to a hospital in two ambulances.
The case was initially registered with the Malegaon city police and was later transferred to the Deola police.
