Youth killed for demanding ‘chuna’ for tobacco in Katol

Nagpur: A 30-year-old youth was brutally murdered in Dhawalapur village of Katol taluka after he asked for lime (chuna) mixed with tobacco from his neighbour. The incident occurred on Friday night. According to police, Sandeep Dudhkawale asked Sahebrao Kohale, 58, for lime. An enraged Sahebrao refused, saying he neither consumes nor gives it, leading to a heated argument. Sandeep's father Sudhakar intervened and pacified both parties. Sandeep then returned home. However, a short while later, Sahebrao returned to Sandeep's house along with a minor boy. Sandeep was standing outside. The duo again picked up a quarrel and assaulted Sandeep with sticks, inflicting fatal injuries. Both accused fled from the spot after the attack.Locals informed Katol police, who rushed to the spot and registered a case of murder and arrested Sahebrao. The minor accomplice has also been detained.
