AMRAVATI: Guardian minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil on Tuesday met patients who were administered phenyl by mistake at the District Women’s Hospital.
Vikhe Patil reprimanded officials involved in the incident and instructed the staff to work with utmost conscience. He also gave instructions to the administration to provide complaint books in which patients can jot down their problems and complaints.
He also directed officials to send a proposal for a police chowky in the hospital premises.
Usually, number of patients admitted to the hospital is far more than its capacity, since patients from all nearby rural areas are brought here. Patil said that stress on the system can be reduced if more facilities are provided at rural hospitals and primary health centres. He directed officials to send proposals regarding this. He also visited the super speciality hospital and inspected the facilities available there. He also suggested use of passes to relatives to avoid a rush at the hospital.
Vikhe Patil on Tuesday met officials to take stock of development work in the region. He suggested implementation of biometric systems in municipal corporation and all government offices within one month. Various issues like Gurukunj Mozari development draft, compensation to orange growers, Ekvira and Ambadevi development plan, acquisition of land for airport and wagon factory, housing scheme under slum development programme and other important issues were discussed at the meeting.
