Seven-foot python, 10 eggs saved from Chandur Rly farm

Amravati: In a rare wildlife rescue, a seven-foot python and 10 eggs were safely retrieved from a farm at Dahigaon village in Chandur Railway tehsil on Tuesday. The rescue began after farm workers spotted unusual movement during excavation work in Punjaram Shende's agricultural field. Snake rescuer Shubham Vighe from Teosa tehsil was called to the site after the snake and the eggs were discovered. On inspection, he found the python sheltering inside a burrow with its eggs, likely seeking refuge from the ongoing intense summer heat.Vighe and his team carefully removed the python and all 10 eggs without any sort of damage. The reptile and the eggs were later handed over to the Forest Department. Volunteers Rishabh Shende, Jeevan Shende, and Yash Vighe assisted in the operation.Wildlife enthusiasts called the incident an extremely rare occurence. While snake eggs and large pythons are often rescued separately, finding a python with 10 eggs during a single operation is believed to be a first of its kind rescue in the region.
